I use it under the dog water bowl. After my dogs drink, water splashes around, so this prevents the floor from getting wet. Since it's in a corner, I chose a relatively small one. This mat has excellent absorbency, the water doesn't puddle on the surface. It dries quickly; the surface is dry in less than 5 minutes.I've been using it for several months, and there's no smell, no mold, and no water stains. Previously, I used disposable pet absorbent pads, which required constant replacement, but switching to this has saved me a lot of trouble.Also, it lasts a long time, the price is reasonable, and most importantly, I like the look of it.It came with small rubber feet to install on the bottom which helps it stay above the floor and evaporate water more easily.

Normally for our dish rack, we just have a regular bath towel or kitchen towel folded underneath to catch the water because someone either lost the tray that captures water or we never had one to begin with. Either way, the towel situation was getting annoying and dirty and having too much water and cloth in that area was a risk for mold. So we needed a new way to dry the dishes without that problem.When we got this stone drying mat, I wasn't very believing at first because it was simply a stone, but immediately I saw why people would use this over a normal tray or towels. The drying stone was so quick to absorb the water from the drying dishes and it dried pretty quickly too. It really is fast drying. It is a bit smaller than I would have liked, but it just barely manages to fit underneath our drying rack.I wish it was larger, but it'll do. Another thing to be wary of, the stone is very sensitive I think, I don't know how else to describe it but the strength and feel of it reminds me of that green foam you put flowers in, but stone texture. I suggest don't drop it or don't even apply too much pressure lest you break it in half. Other than that it is a great item.

These dry very quickly. Loved them so much we bought two more. Only problem is they stain easily. While you should only be putting clean dishes on them, some family members may not be careful. There’s wash easily, but the stains remain. All in all a great buy.

This is a great dish mat. It dries a lot faster than I expected, which makes it really useful for everyday dishes, cups, or anything I do not want sitting directly on the counter.since it’s something that can break, I really appreciated how well packaged it was. I also really appreciated that it came with a note from the seller that said if it arrived broken or damaged to let them know and they would send you a new one free of charge.It did have quite a bit of dust on it when I first took it out of the package, but it rinsed off easily and was totally fine after that. The mat itself feels good quality and does what it is supposed to do.Overall, I’m happy with it. It is simple, useful, dries quickly, and works well.
Okay, I had never heard of anything like this technology until being exposed to this product.I am here to say that it is cool and amazing and wild all in one. It's like this stone almost cutting board like thing... That completely absorbs water. Like, what?You put a newly washed couple of dishes on it, and as the water drips onto it, it gradually fades until it's gone. Not over an hour. Over, like, two minutes. As in, you wash dishes and lay them out here, and in just 3-4 minutes, both the dishes, and the board, are completely dry. I almost don't believe it each time I use it.Basically, this would appear to be the most sanitary way I've seen to dry dishes, since it stays wet for the least amount of time. Even more importantly, it looks like a million bucks compared to those plastic dish drying racks, or compared to the time-tested "I'll lay out a dish towel on the counter and dry on that" strategy.I don't know why this isn't in wider use. Maybe it is in some other nation/culture, but as just a random American dude, I'm fairly flabbergasted by this and amazed that it isn't more popular or well-known. Very cool!

I have heard about these stone drying mats but I was skeptical that you could place a glass upside down and have it dry without the water just getting trapped inside (because it would be a vacuum). I was happy that I was wrong when I tried this WALL QMER Super Absorbent Stone Drying Mat for Kitchen Counter. It must be able to breathe for water inside a glass to get dry! It really does dry the water from my pots and pans, but I would not say it's much faster than a drying rack since water still has to drip down onto the surface.I was also reluctant to get one of these stone mats because of storage issues -- it doesn't fold up, and it's breakable. However, I am getting a kitchen remodel and plan to leave it on the counter since it's flat and the gray blends in with my new countertops. Since it's flat, it will not visually clutter the space.One night I was tired and accidentally left my blue Scotchbright sponge on the board. It did leave a blue mark on my board, but I was able to scrub it off with the same blue sponge. There's still a faint amount of blue, but a small piece of sandpaper is also included. I also like that they gave extra clear adhesive dots for feet -- I only used 4 of the 8 that came in the package. Just make sure to put the dots on the surface side that has the lines (it shows it in the directions).
This was a bit larger than I imagined. I've seen these diatomaceous earth mats in recent years and always been curious about them. They're meant to absorb water like a bathmat but without the sogginess after inital contact. Wicks away water drops, no worry about washing it or bacteria growing. Which makes perfect sense to dry stuff like bottles or plates or just act as a catch for something that may get some water on top (like plants or a small living display).This particular item is meant as a counter but should work fine in the bathroom if you lay it flat (skip the little bumpers for a larger mat if needed). The texture feels like compressed paper, does have a bit of powder residue initially. A little sandpaper will revitalize the surface that's absorbed a little too much water. This isn't to catch spills so don't pour water over it.On the counter, it looks nicer than a silicone or synthetic dry mat. Personally, I would not put glass rims or utensils directly on the surface due to the surface residue I mentioned.
